How mobile poker works

Special Features

There are several features that you would not be able to find in traditional Brick and Mortar Texas Hold’em games that are designed specifically for online and mobile play of the game.

PreAction Buttons

PreAction Buttons allow the player to make decisions about their moves before their turn has arrived. This allows the player to play multiple tables at a time, or have more time to observe other players actions in order to guess what hands they are playing. The Pre action buttons for MGN Limit Texas Hold’em are as follows:

  1. CHK/FLD – Folds your hand unless there is no outstanding bet on the table, in this case it checks your hand
  2. CALL – Calls any outstanding Bet
  3. BET – Iniatest a bet, only seen by the player with now outstanding bets to them
  4. RAISE – Raises the outstanding bet, replaces the BET button when there is an outstanding bet coming around towards the player

Capped Limit on the River

This features restricts the final round of betting, after the river, to one bet and three raises for the entire table, after this is reached all other players must call or fold.

Minimum Limit to buy-in at table

Any player wanting to play at a table must bring at least ten times the Big Blind (or lower stake) for that game.

Show Down

If everybody checked, then the player who is first to act (first player to the left of the button) shows first.  All other players will show in a clockwise order.  OR if there has been action during the final round of betting, then the last player to show aggression will show his/her cards first.  (The player who bet, or the player that made the final raise).  All other players will show in a clockwise direction from the first player.  If auto-muck is selected by the player and the player has a losing hand, then his/her hand would get mucked and won't be seen by other players.  Otherwise, their cards will be shown even if it’s the losing hand.

New Player entering a table

A new player can join the table and sit at any available seat.  If there is currently a game playing, the player would wait until the hand is over and then would post the Big Blind bet to be dealt a hand.

Side Pots:

If there is a side pot due to someone going all-in, the amount of the side pot is totaled with the main pot and shown as one number.  At the end (results), the pots will be divided back.

Odd chip situation

If there is an odd chip situation due to splitting an uneven pot, the odd chip should go to the closest player on the dealer's left (worse position).  If the split is amongst three people, the remainder of the division would also get divided and would split among other players starting clockwise from the dealer button.  In other words, no player should get more than one odd chip. (i.e. $5 pot would split $2; $2; $1, with $2 going to the first two players with worse positions).

Blind Getting Eliminated

If the small Blind for the current hand got eliminated on the last hand, there would simply be no small blind.

Result Screen

When it is time to show the winning hands, all cards will be shown (according to show down rules) and winning hands (if more than one) will be flashing with red borders.  On the phone client, the cards, used in the community cards to make up a hand with the player's card, will move up to better clarify the winning hand.

Buy ins and Add ons

A player can only buy-in at the entry.  To bring in more money, the player must leave the table and then join with another amount.  The player also needs to post big blind again, because he/she will be treated as a new player.
