Annie Duke was raised on a steady diet of cards, cards and more cards. Born in Concord, New Hampshire meant family would always come first. Her family helped her to become the amazing poker player she is today. Annie was always competing against other family members and it was a part of every day life. Duke insists her childhood and upbringing made her the star she is today. Annie Duke didn�t always want to be a professional poker player. After moving out of her parent�s house when she was 18, she decided to go to college. Annie finished school and majored in clinical psychology and English at Columbia University. She is known for being an extremely strong and aggressive player and doesn�t care if her competition is male or female. Annie will take time to really understand each player�s style of play and use this to her advantage. At the beginning of her career, she had a lot on the line. A family and two kids, with no other income source. Annie would play her heart out, so that her husband and children would be able to live a more comfortable lifestyle.
