PokerRoom.com is among the first of the online poker rooms to provide a mobile poker game. The game itself is free to download and play at your convenience. Nevertheless, the network traffic fees of your mobile operator are to be payed by you.

Requirements

The mobile poker game requires that you have Java and allowed to download Java applications onto your cell phone.

The game also requires full internet access. This allows the game to communicate with other players from around the world while you play in real time.

Set up

You will need a WAP browser to download the mobile poker client. If you are not sure how to download content from your WAP browser you may need to check your phone documentation. Once the game is downloaded you will now be ready to play with others for play or real money. The mobile poker game requires a 5 digit PIN code so other may not use your cell phone for poker unless they know your PIN code.

Game

You may play with real players by choosing the “online” option or you may play against fake computer players by selecting the “offline” option. If you are fairly new to the poker scene you may want to practice against computer players first and then move on to real opponents when you are ready.

Table Options

You may play with 2, 5 or 10 players at once. If you choose they “any” option you will be able to play with whatever number of players is available. You may also choose to play with a limit (ie: -20, -50) or not limit. You may also choose which currency you want your money to be represented in. Play money tables will be represented by “P” and Real money tables will be represented by “R”.

Once you have selected a table all the normal poker options found on most online poker rooms will be available on the mobile poker version.

Viewing Modes

PokerRoom’s mobile poker game has 3 different viewing modes:

• Normal – The normal view is the graphical view that shows everything in high quality detail.
• Symbol – Symbol shows a schematic view that allows most phones to see all the action without having to pan from left to right. As a result, the graphics are much more simple in this view.
• Text – The text view is the simplest view available. This view shows all the action in a scrolling text box, much like the “messages” feature on online poker games.
