Before the game begins, all players have to donate a minimum amount of cash to the pot.  Most of the time the pot consists of chips, but can be made up of cash in specific situations.  Next, the players involved are all dealt cards.  After the players view their cards, wagers and bets are placed.  After all the bets are placed and the other players have folded, the player with the highest value of is awarded the pot.
