High/Low with Declare
The home games use this in common, but it is rare in casinos now. While this is played as another version of five-card draw, the game has a phase of simultaneous declaration after second betting round and before showdown. Two chips are taken by each player from his stack, taking them under the table and showing closed fist by all the players, with either one chip or two chips or no chips. The first is shown to indicate the intentions, to win the low half of the pot with no chips, win the high half with one chip and to scoop with two chips. Having the fist of each player is brought up, all the players open the hands simultaneously to show their choices.
The hand of the person showing two chips is treated as best low and best high by which he scoops the pot. Otherwise, the player with the highest hand declared high, and the player with the lowest hand declared low will get half of the plot to each. A player should not have ties and win both ends outright, to declare for scoop. This means the player wins nothing, if declares for scoop, having lowest hand, but ties for high.
Deuce-to-seven low or act-to-six low hand values, are used for playing this game. In this case, the makes it nearly impossible to scoop by anyone, unless everyone declares the same direction.
