The games played at home are supposed to be typical home games without with less-seriousness and with small stakes. This does not discourage skillful play, but the games being only social more than competitive.

Betting pot can be helped to grow in a home game. This is done by adding a variant called ‘kill card’ to the rules. Stud games or shared games are the best games where Kill card works well. With this, one player cannot control by playing with ‘kill card’.

The game, Chernobyl Cowboy is supposed to be a popular ‘kill card’ game. The ‘Chernobyl Cowboy ‘ is the King of Hearts. While playing stud or shared game, the moment King of Hearts appears face up, the game is dead. The pot will take all the bets and the game comes to the beginning with a new ante and a new deal. One who folds during the game, will be out until the end of the game.

In an example of stud game of seven cards, two cards down to each player, then four cards up, and again final card down. In the ‘Chernobyl Cowboy’ stud game of seven cards, in dealing of four cards up, coming up of King of Hearts kills the game and everyone still in antes again for a new round.
