Johnson and Jacks Black

This game will have only one joker, acting as bug, to play. The game has no blinds but played only with antes. Five cards are to be dealt by each player. The player to dealer’s left will begin the first betting round, and may check or open with anything. The game, if opened by any player, continues as traditional five-card draw poker. If the game goes passed out in the first round, without opening by anyone, the player to the dealer’s left is given choice to open, switching the game to California lowball. The passing out in the second round also as a rare occasion, makes the players to re-ante and deal once again. The game can be played with even two players only.

Due to the game playing that a pair of jacks and the need of the game for opening on the first high-hand round, the game is known as ‘Jacks back’.
